***Please keep in mind that some Corals may release toxins as they die, with that said ,be very careful not to kill to much coral at one time as the toxins released by the dying coral(s) may harm other corals that you keep.***

Does the Majano Wand prevent the spreading of Anemone spores?

Yes. The Majano Wand will kill any Planula(aka Sperm, Seed, Spores) that are released by the dying anemone, thus preventing the spreading of anemones. However, if any tissue is left living, new Anemones will grow from left over tissue. It is required that you kill and remove all tissue of an Anemone.

Can the Majano Wand be used on other things as well?

Yes (in saltwater only). Although not designed for other purposes, we have had many users tell us the Majano Wand works great against unwanted Mushrooms, Xenia, Zoanthids, Palythoas and many other soft corals. Treat the unwanted coral the same as a unwanted nuisance anemone.

***Please keep in mind that some Coral can release toxin as it dies, with that said be very careful not to kill to much coral at one time as the toxins released by the dying coral may harm other corals that you keep.***

Has the Majano Wand been tested?

Yes. the Majano Wand has been tested by beta users with great success for approx. 6 months  with no ill effects to Tanks/Equipment/Reef aquariums, prior to being manufactured by PS Aquatics, LLC.

Is the Majano Wand easy to use and operate?

Yes. Anyone can easily learn to use the Majano Wand properly in only a matter of minutes.

How long does it take to kill a Majano?

Every Majano is different, so there is no across the board answer, however; you should touch every bit of tissue you can see with the Majano Wand tip. This could range in time from  approx. 3 seconds to 20 seconds, and sometimes longer when you are unable to reach the Majano properly.

How long will the Majano Wand last?

The Majano Wand does not disintegrate or deteriorate in any way from use. Given proper care, per the instructions, the Majano Wand will last longer than you will need it.

Will the Majanos return?

These animals reproduce in a couple of ways, one of those ways being via spores. If you see some Majanos, chances are you have hundreds of very tiny Anemones trying to grow and reproduce in your system. It is important that you kill every Majano that you see as soon as possible. When you kill a Majano properly, it will not return.

Could the Majano wand shock me if my hand was in the tank?

No. The Majano Wand does not put electricity into the water column,  there is no way the Majano Wand can shock anyone or anything.

I have majanos growing on my overflows and glass. Is the Majano Wand safe to use on plastic and glass?

Yes.  The Majano Wand is safe to use on any hard surface. The Majano Wand will only damage soft tissue that contains salt water (as all soft corals do).

Thank you to David Adrian, who asked us this question!

Can the wand be used to kill majanos that are attached to the shell of a living clam?

YES. However, you must be very careful avoid the mantle of the clam (or any soft tissue for that matter), as you will hurt the clam if you touch its mantle or soft tissue.

Thank you to Hesham El-Adly for asking us this question!

Should I turn off any pumps, returns, filters, or probes while using the Majano Wand?

Yes.  Please use the Majano Wand while all in tank circulation pumps are off, but please leave your main return and all other pumps on, i.e. filters, reactors, etc. Low flow in the tank is useful because it makes removing any bits/parts, that have floated to the surface after using the Majano Wand, much easier to catch and remove.

There is one exception to this rule. If water is moving so fast that you can not accurately control the Majano Wand, then yes please lower/turn off the main return pump which is moving the water so you can control your Majano Wand.

Thank you to Mitchell Downs for asking this question!

Can the Majano Wand be used in my country?

Yes. The Majano Wand may be used on any electrical system from 100v-240v (50/60 Hz)

While you may need a plug adapter, the Majano Wand can be used in any country on any electrical systems provided you have a plug adapter.
